I was actually fairly tired at co-op today, which i think did slow me down a bit. I did help out and ran one of the crafts today where they decorated easter eggs, they also had a easter egg hunt whicht he kids really liked and worked well together as a class each went home with a treat. it was A good idea having the kids take turns and work together teaches them good skills.

This post is for both yesterday April 2nd and for today April #rd because my post yesterday didnt show so i am re-typing it.

April 2nd 2007
Was a very eventfulday . The kids had alot more nergy and were being more troublesome then usual. There was a disaster at snack time with juice being spilt on the floor. As well as a little girl spilling juice all over herself having to clean that up. Also a little boy wasn't feeling very well and threw up on the floor during snack time. So monday was a very fulled day of cleaning. Also it was the first day of our easter/spring theme.

April 3rd 2007
Today was a very fun class, the kids were very well behaved. For snack they had bananas so i had to be cautious of that because i am allergic. It is an easter spring theme, which they had fun with sing songs about bunnies and such and doing actions for it such as hopping around. there was on lil girl that usually barely would take to any of the teachers or many of her class mates and today she was very chatey even with me which was a good sign that she was seeming to become more comfortable in the classroom.

Week march 26 - 30th

This week we had continued with the theme of nursery rhymes.
Which involved alot of singing songs and such repeatly.
such as humpty dumpty they did a demonstration of what actually happens to humpty dumpty where there had the kids build up a fake wall and then Angela smashed a real egg as it went along with the song, which the kids loved.
I read a story to the class at the end of the day before they got picked up. It was when the Aunts go marching in which the kids seemed to like, in the story you kinda of sing the words it has a tune to it and do actions and some of the kids started to join in .
Ive started to realize how to talk to certain kids differently then others because they will be able to understand me better depending on their attitude.
This friday we had integrations day so i didnt attend my coop placment.

Today in co-op we continued with workin on nursery rhymes the one that was most focused on today was humpty dumpty. It was a fairly busy day a bit tiring too the kids complained and got upset easier today. But i was actually able to calm some of them down, or help them stay focus on what they were doing.

Day care center

This is my first blog soo im a bit behind but i didnt start until a week later so ive only been at it for 2 weeks now. At my coop i have been enjoying myself its a fairly laid back enviorment and working with friendly people. Each week they come up with different themes and ideas for the kids to do. Such as the first week was discovery week, so they had things that had to do with museums such as dinosaurs, we've also had beach day for the kids where everyone dresses in beach gear and have beach themed activites. this week that just passed the theme was nursery rhymes which involved singing alot of songs together. the day starts off with play time then heads into circle time where they have a star of the week and go through basic things about the day such as what month it is and what the wheather is like that day. The start of the week tells his or her classmates about their family and brings in pictures. after circle time they then have snack time then have another play time after that then have either a story or ending activity before they leave.
